Alien Brain Hemorrhage Shooter
Feel like adding a little X-Files to your drinky? Pour some Peach Schnapps into a shot glass, layer some Baileys on top, then dribble a little Aftershock Red, Blue, and Orange in the middle. The result is a Dali-esque drink that resembles an extraterrestrial dying while having an MRI scan. Before you die, your brain releases tons and tons of endorphins that make you feel a range of emotions. Tragically delicious.

Question: Rumor has it Damon is going to make sexy time with someone whose name is not Elena on Vampire Diaries. Any idea who?

Ausiello: I have a very good idea who (read: I know, silly), but my lips are zipped. This much I can share: His shag partner is female, she packs a bite and the encounter is, ahem, rough.

I was born this way!

Nooooooooo
no
“Born this way” is not a viable defense against something as irrational and hateful as heterosexism. It’s just not.
I’m not suggesting that most people aren’t born the way the are. What I’m suggesting is it doesn’t fucking matter. Whether you’ve known your orientation since preschool, or only after 30 years of marriage, you are valid and so is your sexual identity. Queer people need to stop policing each other!!
And honestly, if the best defense from bigotry we can come up with is “I can’t help being this way, it was forced upon me at birth!”… FUCK THAT. The world is a fucked up, scary place for queers, but there’s also joy in being who you are. Lots and lots of queer people, if you asked them, wouldn’t want to be any other way.
I don’t need to justify my identity to hateful fuckheads, and neither do you. It doesn’t matter how you got here. Because there is  nothing wrong with who you are.

This.
But also important to remember that people are being hurt because of the fallacy of sexual orientation is not innate. (Re-orientation camps and exorcisms, for example.)
But in general I agree with you. It was when the psychiatric-medical institution recognized that being queer was “not a choice” (or as it was viewed, a pathology as opposed to a moral failure) that they began systematically torturing queers in order to “fix” them.
I think “born this way” rhetoric is not necessarily wrong, and may even be helpful to some people, but will never be enough. As long as people and relationships are stratified according to a heterosexist hierarchy, it will never matter why queers are queer.

TRUE SHIT.
